Travel Essentials
Location:
Our wedding at Cavallo Point Lodge is located in Sausalito, CA - just outside of San Francisco across the Golden Gate Bridge.
Our room block hotel (The Ritz-Carlton) in Nob Hill, San Francisco is about 20 minutes from Cavallo Point. The hotels listed in Mill Valley are about 10-15 minutes away, making it convenient to stay either in SF or across the bridge. You may choose whichever suits your travel desires!
Airports:
There are two international airport options when flying directly to our wedding. Please review the details on each to determine which airport best fits your needs.
San Francisco (SFO) - about 40-45 minutes away from Cavallo Point * recommended*
Oakland (OAK) - about 55 minutes to 1 hour from Cavallo Point
Local transportation:
Uber/Lyft/Waymo: Uber and Lyft are readily available in San Francisco, Sausalito, and Mill Valley and can be taken directly to your accommodations. If you’re traveling in and around the SF City Center (not airport and not over a bridge) you may enjoy trying driverless car service with Waymo too. Trust us, you might love it!
Taxi: Taxis can be easily found at SFO or OAK airports to take you to your destination in San Francisco or Sausalito/Mill Valley, they are less readily available in and around the city.
Car Rental : This is the most convenient and direct transportation option for guests who are traveling around San Francisco. Car rentals in SF are common and all of our hotels offer parking on-site. Our venue also allows parking on-site.
Public Transportation: In and around San Francisco, it is easy to take Muni (our public bus system) to get around. Download the MuniMobile ticketing app on your phone to purchase tickets. A day pass (not including cable car) is $5, and each trip otherwise is $2.75 with the app or $3 cash (exact only).
You may also test out riding a cable car in the city . To board cable cars at Powell & Market, Bay & Taylor and Hyde & Beach Streets, you must purchase your fare in advance (applies 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily).
Pricing details for cable car single trips can be found here. For all-day travel, you may want to purchase a visitor Passport.
